US: Annual Producer Price Index grows more than expected in June

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - On an annual basis the US PPI increased 2.5% in June, following 1.7% growth in May, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics . Analysts pointed to a 2.1% rise. On a monthly basis PPI climbed 0.8% in June, up from the 0.5% in March and above expectation of +0.5%.

Year-over-year PPI excluding Food & Energy rose 1.7% for the second consecutive month, slightly above consensus of +1.6%. On a monthly basis Year-over-year PPI excluding Food & Energy ticked up 0.2%, up from 0.1% and almost in line with forecasts of +0.1%.
